Nothing Solid Yet… and My Launch Is in 3 Weeks 😅

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Reigniting Creativity Before My First Press-On Nail Drop

Hey friends! It’s been a minute — the last time I posted a video was over a month ago. Life got busy, as it tends to do, and I found myself completely swamped. Between real-life responsibilities and mental burnout, I hit pause on my creative process… until now.

With June just around the corner and my first press-on nail collection launch quickly approaching, I knew it was time to jump back in. So today, I sat down to finally sketch and prep for what I hope will be a fun, floral, summery collection.

But let me be honest with you — this vlog, and the day itself, didn’t exactly go to plan.

Starting the Day with Good Intentions… and a Dead iPad

I began the day thinking I’d sketch out a few new nail designs and get into a productive groove. But of course, my iPad was completely dead — I hadn’t touched it since a road trip back in February. (If you want a road trip storytime, let me know in the comments 👀)

So, while my iPad charged, I did what we all do when we’re looking for inspiration — I scrolled Pinterest and Instagram. After about 30 minutes of that, I hit total creative fatigue. Nothing clicked.

From “Nothing” to “Just Start”

I opened Procreate and forced myself to doodle something — anything. But after another 30 minutes, I still didn’t have anything solid. That’s when I remembered a design I sketched in the car during that February road trip. I hadn’t planned on using it for this launch — it didn’t quite match the summery, floral vibe I had in mind — but I figured: maybe just making something will get the creativity flowing again.

So that’s what I did.

Setting the Mood (and the Workspace)

I cleaned up my creative space and added a vase of artificial flowers I found on top of a cabinet. It might seem small, but setting up an inspiring environment made a big difference. I decided to treat this set like a draft — I used a different set of plain press-ons that I don’t plan to sell, so there was no pressure to make it perfect.

And once I got started… something shifted.

Finding Calm in the Chaos

As I painted, I felt myself relax for the first time in a long while. The past few months — especially the last four weeks — have been full of stress, overthinking, and a constant sense of urgency. But as soon as I turned on some music and let myself create, all that noise faded.

I realized how much I missed this. Doing nails. Playing with designs. Creating for the sake of creating.

Creating Without Pressure

I’m someone who’s always on the go — always doing, always filling every gap with more to do. But this reminded me that not every moment has to be productive. Some moments are just meant to be felt. And maybe it’s true what people say — art gives you peace.

This set might not be perfect. The ribbon came out rough, and the colors weren’t exactly what I’d envisioned for my launch — but that didn’t matter. It gave me something I didn’t know I needed: a little calm, a little joy, and a reminder that I’m allowed to create just for me.

3 Weeks to Launch and the Pressure Is On

The countdown is real — three weeks until my first official press-on nail collection launch. I’ve decided to start on Etsy, at least for now. Building a whole new site feels like too much at this moment, and honestly? I’m still testing the waters.

If you’ve ever wondered what building a creative business really looks like behind the scenes — the mess, the overthinking, the wins, and the weird moments — this is it.

Follow along, subscribe, or stick around for more chaos. I’m building this thing one imperfect, painted nail at a time. 💅
