DIY Kpop Demon Hunters Nail Art Tutorial | Huntrix Inspired Press-On Nails

If you love dark, moody Kpop aesthetics with a touch of sparkle and magic, this nail design is for you. In today’s tutorial, I’m creating a Kpop Demon Hunters–inspired press-on nail set, perfect for anyone who loves dramatic, mystical designs.

The Inspiration

This design was inspired by Huntrix from Kpop Demon Hunters, a mix of mystery, confidence, and magic. Here’s the inspiration board I put together before starting:

It captures everything I wanted: moody colors, sleek silver details, and that little bit of sparkle that feels so Kpop.

What You’ll Need

Tip: If you don’t have a cat-eye gel, you can use chrome or a sparkly polish instead.

Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1: Prep Your Press-Ons

I did a quick prep just for design purposes, but if you’re planning to wear your press-ons longer, make sure to follow proper prep steps buff, clean, and dehydrate, so they actually last.

Step 2: Apply Your Base Colors

We’ll start with three foundation shades:
off-white, iris purple, and black.
Paint two coats of each color to get that smooth, even coverage, curing between each layer for 60 seconds under a UV lamp.

Step 3: Add the Cat-Eye Effect

On the ring finger, apply your cat-eye gel polish and use the magnet tool to guide the shimmer where you want it. I went with a purple-green cat-eye to match the theme — subtle but magical.

Step 4: Airbrush or Sponge Gradient

Using iris purple, lightly airbrush (or sponge) the ring and pinky fingers to add soft dimension.

Go slow, it’s easier to build up than fix it if you go too dark.

Then, use a tiny bit of black on the pointer finger with your sponge for an ombré fade effect. Cure each layer for 60 seconds.

Step 5: Nail Art – The Fun Part!

Thumb: Create a curved French tip using a thin liner brush, then add small curls on each side for a sleek, elegant finish.

Middle & Pinky Fingers: Use a dotting tool to make sparkles or tiny stars. If you prefer more glam, swap them for rhinestones!

Silver Swirls: Using silver nail art gel and a thin brush, draw your swirl shapes one by one. I like to keep a bit of acetone nearby to clean my brush as I go. Once the lines connect, it gives a magical, rune-like vibe, perfect for the Demon Hunters theme.

Thumb Sparkle: Start with a cross shape, then draw curled lines from each point and connect them for a starburst sparkle effect.

Step 6: Add Rhinestones

On the pointer finger, draw a vertical line down the center as a guide. Use your dotting tool to mark where each rhinestone will go, then apply rhinestone glue and set your gems.

I tried both black and silver rhinestones, but the silver really popped so I went with that! Cure again for 60 seconds.

Step 7: Top Coat & Reveal

Seal everything with a glossy top coat, cure one final time, and admire your work!
You’ve got a Kpop Demon Hunters–inspired nail set that’s moody, magical, and totally stage-ready.

I love how this set turned out, the mix of shimmer, silver details, and dark tones really captures that Huntrix energy.
