Press-On Nails FAQ

1. How many nails come in a set?

Each set comes with 10 press-on nails, customized to your size or chosen from my standard sizing options. Be sure to check your measurements before ordering to ensure the best fit.

2. How do I know my nail size?

You can purchase a sizing kit from my Etsy shop or measure your nails at home using tape and a ruler (in millimeters). I have a full step-by-step sizing guide here: Press-On Sizing Guide

If none of the standard sizes fit you, select “Custom” at checkout and leave your measurements in this format:
Thumb, Index, Middle, Ring, Pinky — e.g., 15mm, 12mm, 13mm, 12mm, 10mm

Step 3: Remove the tape and measure it with a ruler.

Step 4: Measure each nail. Choose your the referable nail shape and compare with charts below to determine your individual nail numbers (00-9). Remember to use Inner Curvature (IC) size.

3. What’s included in each press-on order?

Every order comes with:

  • Your handmade set of 10 nails

  • Nail file

  • Nail buffer

  • Alcohol wipe

  • Wooden cuticle stick

  • Nail glue

  • Adhesive tabs

  • Application & removal instructions

Everything you need to apply your nails is included!

4. How do I apply press-on nails?

Prep your nails by pushing back cuticles, lightly buffing your nail surface, and wiping with alcohol. Then apply glue or tabs and press each nail for 15–30 seconds.

Tip for longer wear:

  • 1–2 days: A thin strip of glue from cuticle to tip

  • 5–7 days: A pea-sized drop of glue on natural nail + a dot on the back of the press-on

  • 7–12 days: Follow full application instructions (included in your order)

5. How long do press-ons last?

With proper prep and nail glue, they can last 7–12 days.
With adhesive tabs, expect 2–5 days, perfect for a weekend look.

6. Are they reusable?

Yes! All sets can be reused with proper care.
After removing your press-ons, gently buff off any leftover glue from the back of each nail. Store them in the original packaging or a clean, dry container to keep them safe and organized.

✨ Tip: Use adhesive tabs instead of glue for easier removal and to extend the life of your set.

7. How do I remove them safely?

Soak your nails in warm soapy water or cuticle oil to loosen the glue.
Do not force or peel them off – this can damage your natural nails.

8. Do you accept returns or exchanges?

All sales are final due to hygiene reasons and customization.
Please double-check your nail size and order details before purchasing.

If there’s an issue with damage or a defective item, contact me within 2 weeks of receiving your order and I’ll do my best to help.

9. Why do my nails look slightly different from the listing photos?

Each set is 100% handmade, which means there may be slight variations in color, design placement, or charm positioning. I do my best to recreate each design as closely as possible, but small differences are what make your set truly unique!

10. Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I offer international shipping! 
Please note: Buyers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or fees that may apply when shipping outside of Canada.

Flat-rate shipping is available within Canada.

11. How long does it take to process and ship my order?

Every set is handmade to order, so I kindly ask for your patience while I create your nails with care.

Processing Time:
5–10 business days before your order is ready to ship.

Estimated Shipping Times (after processing):

  • Canada: 4–6 business days

  • International: 5–12+ business days

Please note: Shipping times may vary depending on your location and the shipping method.

12. Can I order custom designs?

Yes! I accept a limited number of custom orders.

If you’re interested, please email me or DM me on Instagram (@thatprettynail) before purchasing a custom slot.

What to Include in Your Request:

  • Shape & Length: (e.g. Almond Short)

  • Theme or Occasion: (e.g. Wedding nails, Festival nails)

  • Specific Preferences: (e.g. “No 3D elements” or “Include pearls”)

  • Color Palette & Inspo Photos: Attach images of art, fashion, nature, or nails as style references. Feel free to mention if you want me to freestyle the design, or if there’s anything you’d like to include or avoid.

  • Date Needed (if applicable): (e.g. June 15 – Wedding)

What Happens Next:

  • A deposit secures your order and will be applied toward your final total.

  • You’ll receive a confirmation email within 48 hours with:

    • Final design details

    • Price (minus deposit)

    • A private link to complete your purchase

All final designs and pricing will be confirmed with you before production starts.

All custom sales are final. Once your order is placed, it cannot be changed, canceled, or refunded.

13. My package is lost, what do I do?

Once your order is shipped, it’s in the hands of the carrier. If your package is delayed or lost, please contact your local postal service with your tracking number. I’m happy to assist if I can!
